What Happens when the City on a Hill Stops Shining?

December 14th, 2012 a monster took a loaded gun into Sandy Hook Elementary school. With that gun he did things that shook this nation to it's core. This monster took the lives of 20 precious boys and girls without warning, without sane reason, without second thought. People are saying this all could have been prevented if gun laws were more strict. If he had the proper mental treatment he appeared to have needed. What should our response be to such a horrible tragedy? Many people are questioning where God was during all of this. I believe Mike Huckabee said it marvelously when he basically said that God was there in the teachers who protected those children and the authorities who responded. God was there when those little children arrived at Heaven's gate. He is there to comfort their families and friends who were left behind. He is here and He is not silent. He is trying to wake up His city on a hill. Some are trying to say that we should be glad for God casting His judgement on our nation. I believe this nation is being judged. But I believe in no way that we should celebrate that judgement. We need to be mourning and praying for our nation! We need to take back what was stolen by the enemy! Our people are perishing for lack of knowledge! (Hosea 4:6) We have rejected that God had anything to do with our history! We have thrown Him out of our schools! We have taken His laws out of our courtrooms! His holy righteous justice is no where to be found and we dare ask "Where was God?' It is time to rise up brothers and sisters. It is time to do more than sit in our Church pews and pray that things in this world get better because I hate to break it to you, sweetie, but things will never change until the Church, the beautiful bride of Christ, says ENOUGH! It is time for the men to stop acting like boys. It is time for the mothers to take care of their own children. It is time to start taking a stand and remember what the Church was born to do! American Christians think persecution is being made fun of or being in uncomfortable situations. Persecution is being stoned, sawed in two, beaten, watching your house burn down in flames, being separated from loved ones. I cannot remember the last time I heard of anyone in America have this happen to them. This is not a message of hate and anger. It is written in a spirit of brokenness and sorrow.
and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
It is time to humble ourselves America. Will be shake our fist in God's face and say "We don't need you?" Or will we fall before Him and beg for forgiveness and let Him heal us?

Liberation 2012!

Everyone all over the internet knows about Kony 2012. A terrible man in Africa is doing terrible things to other people. He needs to be stopped immediately. I believe this completely and support bringing him to justice! However, I cannot help but wonder why oh why Americans do not get this angry about stopping abortion. Why is the world not fighting the horror of the murder of the most defenseless/innocent being in the world? Yes, this is terrible what this one man is doing, but abortion has taken the lives of more that 50 MILLION BABIES in America alone. Kony has taken 60,000 lives either by enslaving them or killing them. Abortion has been legal for 39 years. Kony has been running around for about 26 years. I am sorry, but there is no excuse for this!!! This is pathetic and as a former fetus I am appalled at our lack of apathy as human beings. I am all for fighting any evil done to anyone, but we should not forget there are more evils than those in other countries. There is an evil in our own backyards!!! We need to wake up, we cannot just fight things when they are "cool" to fight. I think fighting abortion is the coolest battle to fight, by fighting abortion you are saving a generation of people. One-quarter of my generation is dead. This is my call to liberation. Set the babies free and make the womb a safe place again!!

He loves us

I will be the first to tell you, I am an awful person. I have done things, and said things I hope no one ever finds out! Even though I did not want Him to know, Jesus knew what I was going to do before I did it, and He knew the terrible things I was doing in secret (1 Tim. 5:24-25). He is the one person I did not want to confess to because I did not want Him to know what I had done. For the longest time, and still a little bit now, I saw Him as this great perfect being who only loved me from a distance. By that I mean I knew He loved me, wanted a relationship with me, and would always forgive me when I mess up and confess my sin, I just did not believe that. Now, having only recently realized this, I'm still having difficulty believing it. This is an issue of getting on another level of trust of God. Growing up in church, I've heard this same old story my whole life. Only in my teens have I been able to start to grasp this concept. I think the reason why is because I can only see my failures. I cannot see the big picture God is painting. This goes back to feeling like God loved me from a distance. So often Christians get wrapped up in the formalities of Christianity, we forget that not much of anything Jesus did was formal. He went into the temple with a whip and turned over tables and kicked out the money changers! I do not know about you, but if someone were to do that at my church I think some feathers would be ruffled. For whatever reason we think we have to dress a certain way, pray for hours every day, read our Bible morning, noon, and night to be Christians! Do not get me wrong, if you are a prayer warrior go you! If you do take time to read your Bible a lot, that is amazing! But do not believe that is what makes you a good Christian. A good Christian lives like Jesus. Christ and Christ alone is our standard to live by. No one else can live a perfect life, and that is OKAY. He expects us to fall, He expects us to stumble because He knows we have a nasty sin nature that we are constantly at war with. The beautiful part of it all is, He knows we are going to fall yet He loves us anyway. Before you were ever born he saw you and thought to Himself "I want him." or "I want her." He wants YOU. You are wanted by the God of the UNIVERSE. So when satan has you stuck between a rock and a hard place remember this, you were chosen. You were predestined before the creation of the universe to find His love and accept His eternal gift of salvation. I do not know about you, but that excites me!!
